The New Superphone - Introducing the Samsung F490

In unveiling the new Samsung F490 in Europe instead of the US, Samsung has taken a practical and smart move in introducing to the world its new superphone. Packed with all the perks and features of phone, music and video player and personal computer, this little 102 gram device has been creating a buzz in the techie world.

And it's not only the techie world that's taking notice, this pretty little thing is grabbing the eyes of consumers the world over. It has not been launched in the US yet but it has already created a great furor as the 'iPhone wannabe'. The similarity is uncanny: color, form, shape. But it ends there.

So while the iPhone sports a maximum of 8GB memory with optional 16GB flash drive, the lowly F490 carries only 130MB internal memory. But the people at Samsung is already testing 12GB transflash card. We have to remember that Apple has years and years head start in creating this technology. Both phones use touch-screen systems with the F490 having a 3.2 inch screen to boast.

A lot of potential buyers worry about the tri-band capacity of the F490 which is too slow but advocates states Samsung has to keep the price down and a tri-band GSM is decent enough. But the demanding public will have nothing but the best. With 530 EUROS (roughly 395 pounds), it is not an easy amount to part with. But the F490 has a fighting chance with the following features : A Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 which can make connecting to peripherals effortless, fast HSDPA networks and easy downloading of large files, video streaming and video calling with speeds up to 3.6Mbps and embedded Google Search to support internet browsing. It's worth it.
